Fly Fishing for Lake Trout

The Lake trout is one of the most challenging fish in the North to catch on a fly!

The best time to fish these beauties is mid to late September. During that time, the trout are up in much shallower water as part of their spawning cycle. They can be caught consistently in 20-30 feet of water, from shore or in pontoon boats. Landing Lakers in a pontoon boat is an unforgettable thrill!

Fast-sinking lines are just the ticket, along with some of our custom flies. See our main fishing page for more information.
