Cheryl Pelletier is a retired Chartered Professional in Human Resources. With over 20 years of HR Management experience, Cheryl’s career included posts in both union and non-union environments, in BC Provincial Government, the Post-Secondary Education sector, and in First Nations Government. An active volunteer, Cheryl served on the CPHR BC/YK Board of Directors for seven years until her retirement in 2023. She has been an active volunteer for the BC SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) since 2021, and was appointed to the Board in April of 2023. Cheryl joined the Spirit North Board in December of 2023 and is currently serving as the Chair of the Human Resources & Governance Committee, and is a member of the Executive Committee.
Cheryl has been passionate about sports throughout her life, having coached various girls’ basketball teams as a volunteer community coach. Cheryl also served on the Board of Directors for the BC Winter Games when her community hosted the provincial event in 2010. In her younger days, Cheryl played basketball for 20 years, followed by outdoor soccer for 10 seasons. Retired from team sports, Cheryl continues to stay active as a member of the “10,000 steps-a-day” club and enjoys playing pickle ball.
On the home front, Cheryl and her husband enjoy “living local” in Terrace, British Columbia. Avid fishers and gardeners, they have shared their acreage property with many animals over the years, currently enjoying the company of their two rescue cats, six chickens and a rescue rooster!
